Stories of How Ray Bradbury Inspired Us

I met Ray Bradbury when I invited him to come to Phoenix to talk to the local architects. He gave an enthusiastic YES! and arrived with a huge smile in a limo he'd hired in L.A. I was an aspiring writer and his friendship and encouragement was never-ending. He made a great impact on my life

He has inspired me to keep going in writing. I love writing! But unfortunately, I don't get the best grades. Now that I listened to his inspiring speech I'm ready to write a book! As I grow old I will always remember his video and his inspiring word of wisdom. Love the soon-to-be famous writer!

Ray Bradbury orally dictated a letter to me in response to a letter I wrote to him when I was 16 about my peers and I resembling Mildred and her friends. I told him I wanted to be a teacher because of Fahrenheit 451, and he encouraged me in his letter. 15 years later, I am an English teacher.

A confirmed biblioholic age 11, I was browsing the school library in search of something new. (I'd had burned through mythologies, fairy tales, & folk lore). The book 'R is for Rocket' caught my eye. I reached for it, simply because the author and I had the same name. Right then, I was hooked on SF.

Ray Bradbury inspired me with his famous quote about living forever. I feel like since he had a tough life, and witnessed the passing of close family members, it was hard to stay positive but he did it anyway.

I first read Ray Bradbury's Fahrenheit 451 when I was in middle school, at this time in my life I was in love with science fiction. And the novel captivated my interest and I made sure to read the book thoroughly. Ray as a child was familiar with death, which is hard for someone so young.

First of all, I have never really enjoyed reading stories before. However, after reading 'Mars is Heaven" and 'Dark They Were and Golden-Eyed" by Ray Bradbury, I feel like I am starting to like reading short stories. It inspires me how he pursued his interest in writing stories.

Ray inspired me to let my creativity run wild. Something that surprised me about his life was that he never went to college, but he was still successful. He knows how to keep a story entertaining.

Ray Bradbury is an amazing author that writes these out of this world books. I can say that they are very interesting novels. I sometimes get lost in the book but I can read it over and over again and somehow it gets more exciting.

Ray Bradbury helped me enjoy books through my high school years. I disliked assigned books to read during classes because they don't keep me interested and it's difficult for me to complete. My freshman year I read "Fahrenheit 451" and ever since I read it it's helped me appreciate his work.

I was most surprised that Ray Bradbury influenced space exploration so much because I didn't know that he was so into space. Ray Bradbury is also pretty inspirational because some of his books are famous literature pieces and his writing style can help me incorporate some new styles into my writing.

I was surprised to hear that he didn't attend college. I just figure that's a given when imagining successful and well-known authors, but it was very interesting to me to hear that he could not attend. He must have been very passionate about literature to go the the library for hours everyday.

Ray Bradbury has inspired me to write more poems and short stories! As well as to be way more creative with my writing, and to do more detailed concepts (prompts).

I don't really known who was Ray Bradbury until the virtual exhibit. It really surprised me how Bradbury influence many things. Like influencing a space program with U.S and Russia. Ray inspired me with the different type of fields he did and his work is also inspiring.

I honestly knew next to nothing about Ray Bradbury before I read through the exhibit-- I knew a bit about Fahrenheit 451, but I had no idea about the influence Bradbury had on the space programs in both the U.S. and Russia, or about how inspirational many other writers found his works.

As a young child I myself was able to become acquainted with death, first experiencing it with the lost of my mother. This made me love indulging in fantasy and reading about space inspiring me to become a astronomer .

The sheer influence that Ray had in and after his life is mind-boggling to me. Not to mention that it even spanned across several different fields and somehow still inspired so many people! Regardless of it being space, writing or otherwise, Ray had managed to influence so many through his work!

Ray is such a great storyteller, it is easy to revisit his works again and again. I enjoy rereading Dandelion Wine every spring or summer.
