“My parents immigrated from Peru to the US when I was 11 years old. Leaving my sister and I behind with family in order to better settle first looking for better opportunities. They sent for us after and arrived to the US when I was 14. I grew up in Chicago and had the chance to become a professional do to their choice. I am grateful for their decision and appreciative of the opportunity my sister and I were given by the decision my parents took.”
