Stories of the Impact of Frederick Douglass’ Life’s Work

I learned that the use of visual photography allows for stereotypes and caricatures used to dehumanize groups of people and justify the denial of their deserve based human rights to be contrasted with accurate representations of one's self.

Through Frederick Douglass' work, we can feel the cruelty and pain experienced by African Americans in slavery. We learn the deep systemic racism built into the country that still affects African Americans today through his work.

Frederick Douglass was an escaped slave who became a prominent activist, author and public speaker. He became a leader in the abolitionist movement, which sought to end the practice of slavery, before and during the Civil War. His work served as an inspiration to the civil rights movement.

I learned that Fredrick's last name wasn't Douglass when he was born. He didn't live to see the end of segragation but he did a lot for the black community. I never knew that he got married either but it seems like he had an extremely productive life and that's good because it actually got us places

I learned a lot about Frederick Douglass! Not only did he fight for the end of slavery and for the freedom of African Americans, but he also fought for the rights of women. Which was very rare at that day and age! He wanted everybody to have a voice, not just black people!

I learned that Frederick Douglass did not only fight for the freedom of African Americans but also for the rights of women. He didn't just want his own people to have a voice but for everybody to have a voice

I learned a lot about Frederick Douglass. He was a support of the 13th,14th, and 15th amendments. He strongly supported them, the amendments outlawed slavery. Douglass was a slave who escaped. When slavery was ended he feared that it didn't, he feared that it only ended in name only.

I learned that Frederick Douglass was an escaped slave that fought to end slavery. His work inspired the civil rights movement in the 1960s.

What I learned about slavery from Fredrick Douglass is that black men weren't able to vote after slavery had been abolished. Douglass wanted equality, it went beyond black men being able to vote. He was basically a feminist before the term was even created. 05/06/2021

Frederick Douglass believed that no matter what color/race/ethnicity you were that everyone should be equal. African Americans should have equal rights to vote. Frederick didn't allow mistreatment and just overall hated slavery and tried to end it!

Douglass was an intelligent, passionate man. He spoke about slavery, and how it still existed. He believed that African-Americans should have equal rights to vote. Frederick did not allow mistreatment going on in the south be unknown.
